Imagine if we can convince athletes and sport players to wear a head band with two small cameras that records their moves and what they see in 3D and HD.
We could then watch a basketball game for example and choose a player angle for a replay and see the move as seen from the eyes of that basketball player. We could also choose to see the whole game from the point of view of a specific player, a referee, a coach or a guy sitting on the bench hearing the inside comments by the team mates waiting for their turn to play.
I think it would be amazing and I can’t wait until it is available. I think that people would pay a premium to have this available to them so there is no reason it will not be available.
I can see this as being great also for the Olympic games as well as other high profile championships.
Imagine a tennis game where you see the player POV in real-time.
Now let’s take it to the next step…
If you can see a player as he or she moves in real time and you get the images and sounds that he or she gets, you can use tiny electrodes or microphone to influence their choices.
A coach can indicate if to take the shot or not…
An experienced player can give feedback to a newbie…
Viewers can SMS and most votes can request the player to take their wants into account…
This can allow a level of interaction and intimacy not available currently.
Some people that like to play soccer or basketball love the feeling of dribbling or kicking around a ball when they walk.
It is not always appropriate to carry a ball around with you especially if you are in the middle of a busy school or work day.
It would be fun if someone would produce a glove or shoe that can simulate the feel of dribbling or kicking a ball. A realistic simulation software chip and some low electricity electrodes might be enough to make a realistic enough experience.
Wearing this shoe for example you would press a button to start a 5 minute simulation. Then you would feel a tightening or a soft electric feedback from the top of the shoe as you move it forward as if you just kicked a ball and made it roll. The software in the shoe would calculate the time and location of the next time you should feel that ball. As you walk you will start to anticipate where the virtual ball is and enjoy the real-like experience.
The shoe can also measure a simulated kick of the virtual ball and even take into account direction and accuracy.
With basketball enthusiasts in mind a glove can simulate dribbling and even a ball throw. A throw can even indicate distance and correctness according to angle and strength.
This idea is to create a robotic basketball hoop and board that has a camera and that can move to assist shots at a predefined level… this can help players at different levels play together and have fun.
Levels can be:
- Assist High 10 inch movement
- Assist Medium 5 inch movement
- Assist Low 2 inch movement
- Assist random
- No Assist
- Disturbance low 1 inch
- Disturbance random
