Imagine humming the notes of a song. What if a small app could recognize the notes and play them back in real time using a sound recorded from a musical instrument.
You could play the piano or saxophone by humming softly into your iPhone and letting the app do the conversion work for you.
This will bring the playing ability to people that did not spend years practicing a specific instrument but have the capacity to sing or hum the right notes.
This is a creative idea but I found out that there are several patents that are very close to it so it is off the implementation list..
It is hard to get used to a piano keyboard. To know by intuition where every key is. This takes a lot of practice and practice takes a lot of time which most of us don’t have. Sometimes we have time and mood to play but many cannot or don’t want to spend the time (years!!!) integrating with a piano keyboard.
I say piano makers step up to the 21st. century!
Start making pianos with qwerty keyboard and print notes that have letters on them. People will be able to sit next to a piano, grab a notebook with qwerty notes and start playing. We do have years of experience playing a computer keyboard to type texts.
A piece might look like: addsffgfdsaaa and the good players can add DFSDFS and !#$%^%^&&* to get more exact with the music.
I would buy one…
I know that there are probably software solutions for playing but they need to take it all the way and make the needed notes language and let people play on the qwerty keyboard on style by making a real piano with it.
