This idea will stop the quarreling about the toilet seat position. A small pedal that a guy can put his foot on while urinating will automatically push the seat up and away. When the foot leaves the pedal the seat will fall back onto the toilet.
The same idea is used for trash bins to lift the cover without using the hands by stepping on a pedal. Why not do the same in the toilet.
